Downloading ALL photos from iMessage to iCloud / apple photos

I have several iMessage chats with family members. during the past years, there have been a large number of photos shared in those chats.

In one specific chat, I have more than 2,300 images. Is it possible to "bulk download" all of those pictures to my MacBook or import it directly into my iCloud/Photos? I want to permanently delete this specific chat, but downloading 2,300 manually from to phone with selecting a few and then "save to camera roll" would take ages!

most third-party applications which offer a backup function, completely mess up the order of said images and do not display it as they would have been displayed in Photos. Any ideas?

Hello clemens.p.chmelar,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We understand you want to Save to Camera Roll all the photos sent from iMessages.

There would be no way to bulk download the items from the iPhone to the camera roll, but there is an album in Photos (if both devices are completely updated) known as 'Shared with You' and you should be able to utilize that for your purposes. If you have iCloud Photos turned on, they should also be on your MacBook: Use Shared with You on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Take care.
