How to undo on iOS

I notice sometimes that while my iPhone is open in a Note, that a dialog box appears and asks if I want to undo typing. I don't know what causes that? Maybe I accidentally did something to cause that. It usually happens when I'm not looking.

In macOS, the way to undo anything (usually typing) is Command+Z.

Anyone know how I can deliberately undo in iOS, such as undo typing in Notes?

iPhone 8, iOS 15

Hi Shinehah,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand you are being asked if you would like to undo typing while using your iPhone.

It sounds like this may be related to Shake to Undo, as discussed below.

Use the onscreen keyboard with VoiceOver on iPhone

  • ""Undo: Shake iPhone, swipe left or right to choose the action to undo, then double-tap."

"Turn off Shake to Undo

If you tend to unintentionally shake iPhone, you can turn off Shake to Undo. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch."

Found here: Adjust how iPhone responds to your touch

Cheers!
