Catalina 10.15.4 will not update

I currently have Catalina 10.15.4 installed. I have tried updating to all of the following with the same error

Installation failed.

10.15.5

10.15.6

Big Sur

Monterey

I have tried this is safe mode and normal mode

I have tried using safe mode for over 15 minutes then trying in safe mode and normal mode

I have tried to reload the os via recovery mode and I have tried installing using terminal and the command softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 12.0.1

I currently have 629GB of free disk space so space isnt an issue

anyone got any other things I can try

i have done that before, I have just done it again and got this result

sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 10.15.7
Downloading and installing 10.15.7 installer
Install finished successfully

However about this mac still reports that I am on 10.15.4

?

Good news for you(?) —The command line will not install it automatically.

If you have the full installer it will be sitting in your Applications folder "Install macOS Catalina.app"

You can launch it like opening any application.

You never say what exact Mac this is....

If you replaced the OEM PCIe SSD with a third party Drive, there are known issue. The work-a-round here would be to reinstall the OEM, upgrade that drive..once you have updated EFI/Firmware in the machine, you can then reinstall your third party drive and proceed.

What if from the Terminal.app to list the available software updates, copy&paste:
sudo softwareupdate -l
Software Update Tool

Finding available software
Software Update found the following new or updated software:
* Label: macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Update-
Title: macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Update, Version: , Size: 5125392K, Recommended: YES, Action: restart,

if the update is listed, Install specific updates from those listed (change the ex. "PackageName" ) with the following:
sudo softwareupdate -i PackageName

If you are running macOS 10.15.4 then there is no reason you should not get the point updates to the stable release of macOS 10.15.7 (19H1519) (October 25, 2021)

>System Preferences>Software Update

You neglect to say what exact Mac is this.... not so hard >About this Mac

Look at the tech spec of the macOS you are trying to install—if your mac does not meet the requirements you can not update any further...

I suspect since the Catalina is old macOS the point updates are not available via Terminal

You can download the full installer:

sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer --full-installer-version 10.15.7
