My iPhone SE swollen battery lifted out the screen

My iPhone SE screen has popped out 2/3rds down and a swollen battery is possibly the problem. It will begin charging but the charge will not last. The screen will be on for a second and then it will turn off. It happened suddenly without warning. Apple has checked the serial number and has indicated "repairs" are not covered; however, there was no place to describe the problem as noted above. They requested the date of purchase which I am having trouble locating, this being one of my four iPhones purchased.

This is a user to user support.

We have no way of verifying your purchase date.

You will need to contact the place you bought it from for a copy of the receipt or go back over your credit card charges.
