I have just purchased an iphone 13 and upgraded to ios 15.1- ever since I have numbers instead of names for texts and no caller id when somebody calls. Whatsap is ok and my contacts list shows the names and numbers. Any ideas - thank you.

Thank you for your help. Having tried lots of solutions in the end I had to change the region and time zone to a different country then turn off dial assist, re turn them back again and restart the phone and all is good. Thank you once again for your time.

Thank you for posting! From our understanding, in the Messages app, your contacts are showing only the number and not the saved name, is that right? Does this continue if you close the app out completely and relaunch it? How about if you restart your iPhone?
Do you sync your contacts with iCloud? If so, you can try toggling contact off in Settings > Your Name > iCloud and then turning it back on to force it to sync again.
