Turn off Two-factor authentication

How do I turn off two-factor authentication?

I misplaced my iPhone at work the other day and tried to access Find my iPhone from my work laptop but couldn't because icloud.com was sending the access code to my lost iPhone.

I use non-iOS devices.

If I can't, I'll seriously consider switching to android because this actually prohibits me from finding my iPhone when it is misplaced or lost.

Hi JJO76,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you came from the following support article: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID

In the article it states, "If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it off."

For further support, you can contact Apple Support here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Have a great day.

Clearly, you do not understand my reply. First, let me make it clear: THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO TURN OFF 2 FACTOR AUTHENTICATION. NONE.

Second, if you log in the https://icloud.com/find, Including the /find at the end (as posted by KiltedTim), it will NOT prompt for 2 factor authentication. However, if you log in to https://icloud.com it WILL ask for 2FA.

Then you are also saying that you personally have no other phone numbers and no other Apple devices, and you don’t know anyone that has any phone numbers or Apple devices that you could use as backup trusted numbers or devices?

Please switch to Android. And don’t lose your Android device either, or you will have the same problem. If you didn’t take Apple’s advice (or Google’s advice after you switch) when you set up 2 factor authentication, to create additional trusted phone numbers you will have to request account recovery→How to use account recovery when you can’t reset your Apple ID password - Apple Support

Do you have any email accounts associated or Sd card that may have file data still saved from the lost device. Also if you know your login info just call apple and provide them with everything you have/can remember. I’m no tech, and this private authentication password saving system can be quite obnoxious but we gone figure it out Part’na 🤘🏾🤘🏾

Clearly you do not understand my query. Nor do you quite understand that I use one phone, which is why setting up another phone number to recover an account will not work either. Nor do you understand that when I try to log into my icloud account to use findmyiPhone, the 2FA sends a verification code to the phone that is lost. People like you are the reason why people like me find these communities unhelpful.
