Apple Music and Other Apps Won't Work with USB in Car after IOS 15 update

I recently updated my iPhone XR to the IOS 15. Up until that time, I was able to hook my phone up to my 2015 Chevy Equinox and play apple music through my car radio. As soon as I updated my phone my radio stopped recognizing my phone. The USB will still charge my phone but that's it. I have seen that other people are having similar issues with other car stereos. I was wondering if anyone has found a fix for this issue? I can't afford to and don't want to buy another car and really don't want to have to go through the hassle of having a newer car stereo put in just for this one issue. Is there any way to go back to the previous IOS or anything else I can do to fix this?

Let's start by making sure you are on the latest version of iOS 15. Currently, this is iOS 15.1. You can check this at Settings > General > About. You can update following the steps here: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
