Icloud photos blurry when uploading to shutterfly

Hello,

My icloud photos are blurry when I upload them to Shutterfly or costco.com. I've converted them to JPEG and the problem still continues. How can I change their resolution so I can use the photo? Thanks.

iCloud. All of your original images are in iCloud. You've changed the setting on your phone so those will eventually download high-res images. For now, go to iCloud.com on a computer and download the images you wish to use. Then try uploading those images to the photo service.

You'll want to download the original image; perhaps on a computer at iCloud.com/photos. Or, you can undo the optimize on your library on device (it's probably not worth that).

Otherwise, it's a long workaround. You're essentially downloading the original on device, saving it somewhere other than photos, and then using those downloads to upload to the photo print service

Open Safari

go to iCloud.com/photos

Select an image

Tap more (the three dots)

Tap download

Tap download when the dialogue box appears

The file will download to your Downloads folder in the Files App (under iCloud Drive)

When you upload photos you'll need to select from that location, not from the photos library. I'm not sure external apps have a baked in ability to navigate a different folder, but you can try

I suspect you're still not sending the hi-res copy. Select a picture and get info (right-click or command+I). You'll see the size and dimensions.

Go to iCloud.com and download any one image, you'll see that it's likely 3+ MB in size. If you share a photo from your phone it's probably around 1MB in size. The download and keep originals will slowly replace your low-res versions with high-res versions so it's not something that is immediate. Depending on how many images you're sending, it may be easier right now to download from iCloud first.

No, if you're using your device to upload photos you'll need to point to the Files download folder (where you saved the high-res pictures).

You can turn off optimize in Settings > Photos. If you have enough room on your device, your pictures will all download. If you do not have enough space, not all pictures will download.

If you have a computer, and can download originals or use Photos on a Mac, that will be the easiest way to upload to a service.
