IPad Pro 10.5 (2017). Using iOS 14.8.1 Apple Share button stopped working recently

“Sharing” items via Apple Mail on my iPad pro worked great till a few days ago. Now when I press the Apple share icon (top Left) nothing happens. If I cancel out, I get a message “save Draft or Delete Draft.”. If I choose another Share app, i.e. GMail, this works OK and I get the Share to send me an e-mail. I have been using the Apple Mail share for years and all worked fine.

Any suggestions as to why this sudden change? DJJC

If you haven’t already done so, a forced-restart of your iPad may be beneficial - as doing so will often resolve an isolated software issue:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On other iPad models: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.
