I’m using a 2017 5th Generation iPad with IOS 15.0.2.
When I press the share button, the app freezes. I have to completely close it and reopen. This does not solve the problem.
This problem happens with Google, Safari, Chrome, and several other third-party apps.
I have looked through several discussions here, but none offered a solution.

This is most likely just a software issue. Try the following:
1) Shut off your iPad and restart it, then try to share again
2) Update to iPadOS 15.3 (see this link: https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/update-ipados-ipad9a74c576/ipados)
If the issue still persists after the update, you may want to backup your iPad, then erase it, and reinstall iPadOS and restore your backup. This may take up a chunk of time, but it may solve the problem if nothing else worked.
