Quick notes always opens a previous note

I like the idea of Quick Notes, but when I open the Quick Note it opens a previous note. I wanted a blank note, not something to add on to a previous note.

Am I missing something?

Have you checked if in Notes preferences Resume last Quick Note is active?

Quick Note is NOT FRIENDLY I am so annoyed by Quick Note. It is great to put up info at first, but every time I activate it, it only allows me to add to the existing note, there is no + to add a new note that is separate. I open the Notes program and the same issue. The send arrow doesn't seem to work either like the docs say. So annoyed ... anyone have a note program they like better?

Notes cannot be edited It seems that notes saved in my "Notes" app cannot be edited. If I touch a spot to edit the note, it opens a new note. Is this an Apple feature? Also, I cannot see the text I type into a new note until I select done. Then all text will be in the title.

Notes creates a new note every time I open the application. As the title states, now whenever I open Notes a new note is created. If I'm in gallery view the new note stays open on top of the others, if I'm in list view it quickly disappears. What's going on, it's so annoying. Apple support had no solution.
