Keyboard Caps Lock Light Is Out
Is there a way to turn the caps lock light back on? Or is the keyboard malfunctioning?

Thanx. I did something a little simpler: I turned the keyboard off... and back on again. Solved the problem (so far....)

I found that after updating to Monterrey 12.1 (latest) on my new iMac, the problem was resolved.
My IMac shows 12.1 - once I upgraded to this version (latest), the caps lock light worked normally.
New IMac owner here. Same issue. Caps Lock light intermittently stops working particularly after longer sleep. Power on/off on keyboard restores the light or a bluetooth reconnection of the magic keyboard. But, it seems, no real proper solution is forthcoming. Is this hardware of a software/os glitch?
my new 2021 M1 iMac keeps doing this too. turning off & back on restores it, but along with the unreliable bluetooth connections to my phone this is starting to seem pretty flaky
the touch ID periodically stops responding too. no message saying it hasn't been recognised or anything....it just doesn't respond at all when I try to use it to get back in after it's gone to sleep.
And also as an alternative, I found that reconnecting the bluetooth connection for the keyboard also worked. But it's still not ideal!
You can try shutting down your iMac, wait a few seconds then boot it again. If that doesn't work, you might have a keyboard malfunction.
Hi - Thanks for your help polanalyst - I upgraded to 12.1 Monterey and fingers crossed the caps light is now working as it should - result !!!
Off and on, while plugged in, worked for me. Apple - need a fix here.
I have the same issue as others - iMac nearly 12 months old and wireless keyboard caps lock green light stops working unless it is plugged into the back of the Mac. Had the keyboard replaced and same problem immediately. Supplier suggested I contact Apple Care which I have and said it could be an issue since my update from Mojave to Monterey and I think that is when this started happening so maybe Apple need to sort this issue in their next update.
well, my caps lock issue hasn't reappeared of late...but the touch Id has gradually become completely useless and only works every now and then (like, every 20 or more attempts). Most of the time I have to use my password, and have gradually started giving up on it and simply using that instead.
Oddly, my touch ID on my cheap Huawei/ Honor phone works flawlessly - as did the one on my old Nexus phone. Different hand/ finger though, so maybe that has something to do with it?
My Ipad Air 2 had exactly the same issue - tried endlessly reprogramming my fingerprint and it would be ok for a bit, then gradually stop working again. most odd
You're welcome. Good work.
I did it, several times and is not working. It's so annoying.... Does anyone have a real solution?
My keyboard is a few months old. It came with my brand new 2021 iMac. If your keyboard is about as new as mine, then I don't know why turning the keyboard on and off worked for me and not you.
Turning it off and then on as advised worked for me - excellent answer :)
