SMS ALERT: NO SOUND

Stopped getting message alerts for a while.

Checked my settings and everything was just as it should be. Still no sound when new messages are received.

However, I updated phone’s software to 15.1 version and when i turned the phone off and back on again, alert sound came back on.

Strange because I had given up and this was my last attempt. Funny it worked. 😁

No iPhone SMS Notification Sound I do not get a notification sound for SMS texts, specifically automated texts. I do get a visual notification, just no alert sound. This is very specific to SMS texts. All other alert sounds work fine including iMessage alerts, i.e. any messages from iPhones. There are no other symptoms. I cannot find any settings that are unique to SMS/MMS. I've had this problem forever (at least a year) through multiple reboots and iOS version upgrades. I'm looking for any ideas!

text msg notification and sounds not working after update to 14.7.1 Yesterday I updated my iphone 8 to 14.7.1 and text msgs and text sound notifications not working. I double checked all the setting, rebooted twice and still no notification or sound. In fact, I tested text receive from my wife's iphone and it simply was not received, until I texted her and then she was able to respond. What's going on?

No “text received” sounds iPhone 14 iOS 17 Why am I not hearing the notification sound for an incoming text message? I have gone into Settings> notifications >messages and selected allow notifications. I have checked the sound settings for the message notifications and everything seems to be where it is supposed to be. I have an apple iPhone 14 with iOS 17. This is a new problem since I downloaded, the update.
