I can ask Siri on my iPhone / iPad to play a movie or tv show on my living room Apple TV box and that’s great but how do I get it to open a specific app on the same Apple TV instead?

Yes. Press and hold the Microphone button on the Apple TV remote or in the Remote App on your iPhone and and say “Siri Open xxxx”.

As I said, you can use the remote App on your iPhone to do that, but you will need to select the Apple TV first from the dropdown list.

Thanks Phil. I know I can do it from the remote but I want to do it via my iPhone. Something like, speaking to my my iPhone, “Hey Siri, turn on the BBC iPlayer in the living room” rather than having to find the remote for that particular Apple TV box.
