Macbook Pro 17' battery not charging after OS update

This is very obviously a software issue. I'm pretty appalled that apple would continue to offer their OS update CLEARLY KNOWING that this is a common issue.

Tried different outlet, different charger, resetting SMC - to no avail. Hoping someone has successfully solved this issue.

On another note - is there an easy way to restore an old version of OS without wiping my entire computer?

I too have a MBP 15" from 2017.

I am running Big Sur 11.6.

The battery seems to have died yet Battery Health is showing as Normal, but it will not charge. I have changed charger and it makes no difference.

The 17-inch MBP was discontinued in June 2011. It cannot be upgraded to Mojave or later. Something is missing here?
