Diacritic for Spanish - letter n with tilde

The letter n with a tilde over it (as should be used in Espana) is no longer available after downloading the latest iPad upgrade. The only options available are…n, ṉ, & ŋ. Any idea how to get the n with a tilde back?

thanks

Spanish is the fourth most used language in the world with over 500 million speakers across multiple countries so I’m surprised that Apple has not fixed this problem yet. To me, it seems disrespectful.

I have found this work around for my Spanish studies and for sending messages to Spanish speakers:

Select the Spanish keyboard

Turn on the correction prompt.

Then when a word that should have a tilda is typed in, the word will be highlighted as incorrect and an option will appear to select the same word but with tilda.

It’s fiddly and not ideal for language learning but it is better than not having the tilda, especially for tests and for polite communication.

That would be fine if the n with tilda key actually worked. The whole point of this thread is that unfortunately it does not.

This thread has been talking about getting n tilda via the press and hold popup menu for N on English keyboards. When you use the Spanish keyboard do you not have a key with Ñ printed right on it that can be used to produce this character? If so, could you post a screen shot? I think there are a couple Spanish screen keyboards available.
