My AirTag wont connect to my phone, it keeps popping up with a message saying cannot set up this AirTag your Apple ID cannot add another AirTag until one or more have been removed.
I don’t have another AirTag, I have an iPhone, iPad, AirPods and an Apple Watch. Why wont my AirTag connect?

Tried them all. Nothing works. I guess need to wait for the next IOS release when you will fix this issue
Yep, tried those solutions as well. Nothing has worked.
Same problem tried all above suggestions but nothing works. Bought this to protect my property but a waste of money.
Has anyone had a sensible answer from Apple?
to add an Air Tag you have to go to Air Pod settings and click ‘Forget this device’ before you pair and Air Tag.
The “fix” doesn’t work for me either. Unpaired AirPods. Force closed. Restarted. Still says too many AirTags. This is my first one. What a disaster.
Sending my new air tag back to apple. Will buy a competitors product. If Apple doesn’t care enough to write decent software to make this seamless and idiot-proof, I don’t care enough to keep it.
I have this same issue. It won’t let me add. I’ve called twice. I’m so done with Apple. Everything they sell is expensive and it’s just not that good. Apple is awful.
