No Update of Photos on Mac while Uploading library

I have finally decided to upload my complete photo library of 118.000 photos (800 GB) to iCloud and for this I bought 2 TB of iCloud space.

After 5 days now 50.000 images are uploaded.

But: No new photo I make shows in the photos app of my Mac while the Mac is still uploading to iCloud. All new photos DO show in iCloud if I open it in the browser.

So does the Mac not download photos to "Photos" while it is still uploading? Will they appear later? Yes, Icloud is active on the Mac and same ID etc on all devices.

Yes they will appear later.

5 days for 50000 images is not unexpected (Mine took 2 days for 5000). Leave the Mac on 24/7 connected to power and with sleep disabled.

Yes, it needs to be open.

What is the format of your Pegasus volume? Hopefully it is APFS or MacOS extended, and not used for time machine. Are you able to set the ignore ownership check box?
