Cannot Show Hidden Files in MacOS Monterey

Hello,

I am trying to show hidden files with the key combination: command + shift + . however the icons get bigger, hidden files stay hidden. I was able to show the hidden files in Big Sur but Monterey does not allow me. Can anyone help me?

The problem isn't icon view. The problem is the keyboard mapping. For whatever reason, that shortcut is Icon size in the Turkish keyboard layout.

Exactly. But when I do the shortcut (command+shift+dot) twice, it does work. One caveat is that you need to decrease the icon size back. This is frustrating really.

I have also realized that in Safari, the zoom in shortcut is set to "command+:" which corresponds to "command+shift+dot" in Turkish-Q keyboard. I guess that is what caused the problem. I could not figure out a way to change this shortcut.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

Yes, it only worked on list view, however, it should work on other views, too.

The problem isn't icon view. The problem is the keyboard mapping. For whatever reason, that shortcut is Icon size in the Turkish keyboard layout. I played around with the Turkish Q layout and there are several combinations mapped to icon size, but I didn't find any combination that toggled hidden files.
