Water lock during swimming pool workout

Hi, I’m going swimming with my Apple Watch tomorrow,  when starting a swimming pool workout and end the workout,  does Apple Watch clear the speaker of water?  As I can’t hear any sound of it do so, when I manually turn off water lock I can hear it clearing water from speakers
