Download podcasts to my watch

Hi,

I own an iPhone 12 Pro and an Apple Watch Series 6 (no cellular- only GPS).

I run and hear podcast episodes. So every time before I go running, I download podcasts episodes to my watch.

The problem is that it is doesn't work smoothly.

The Sync Podcast option is turn on, on my iPhone settings.

In the watch app, in the "Podcasts: - I chose Custom and saved. which means I want to download to my watch only saved podcasts episodes.

Then, I go to the Podcast app on my iPhone and save the episode I want. then I connect my watch to the charger and sometimes it downloads the saved episode and sometimes it just doesn't download it, and sometimes it sticks in "Waiting" status. Sometimes it works but not most of the time.

Why does it happen? why the whole process of downloading podcasts episodes to my watch so I can hear it offline, is so frustrating? Is there a system that makes the process easier? Mabe turn off the Saved (in podcast in watch app) and open it every time so the watch will download it?

I talked to Apple support and they didn't know how to help me.

I'm so frustrated, please if you can help me that would be great!

I tried Spotify as well, but it stuck on " 1 out of 1 downloading" for ages.

Thanks guys!
