My wife and I each have 50GB storage presently. We would like to upgrade one plan to 200GB storage and use Family Sharing in lieu of the 2d 50 GB storage plan. What is the easiest way to accomplish this?

Decide which of you is going to be the organizer. The organizer then upgrades their storage to 200GB. This done, they invite the other family member to join. When they join their current storage plan will be cancelled and the remaining part of the subscription refunded. (No data will be lost in the process.)

Each of you will have a 'ringfenced' storage area within the overall storage (there is no limit on how much storage any one member can have so theoretically on member could hog all the storage). Each area is private from the other unless sharing of specified items it allowed.
