AirPods 3 touch controls don’t work.

I recently bought airpods 3rd gen from Best Buy . They sound good,charge but the touch controls don't work. I restarted them and tried everything,does someone know what to do? Is there a chance that I got some used AirPods from Best Buy for the full price? (I paid 192 dollars including the tax)
