Mac Message changing audio file names when sending...

Hi Folks,

A weird problem cropped up in Mac Messages today. I was sending an MP3 audio file to a colleague, and, upon dragging and dropping the file in the Messages window to include it, the name was changed from "After 5 Waltz.mp3" to "AUDIO_6096.mp3". The file seems to transfer OK (at least it shows up and is playable on my iPhone), but the name is wrong. It was working correctly a few days ago when I last sent an MP3 file, so this just cropped up.

This happened with other MP3 files as well. Text files or images don'ts seem to be affected...

I have quit and reopened Messages, and restarted my Mac. Problem persists...

Interestingly, when I pop the file into a iCloud Files folder, and then send it from my iPhone, the name is correct. So, a Mac issue...

M1 MacBook Air, Monterey 12.0.1.

Now, if I can figure out why preview icons stop showing up in Finder windows until I relaunch - multiple times per day - although, at this point, I've given up

Glad it’s all Music peoples here. Lol. Why did we upgrade? My old hdx was fine too. I hate hybrid.

Having the same issue here too. Only started when I upgraded to new MacBook Pro and Monterey.

Same issue, has nothing to do with DAw. Its only when you drag onto iMessage.

I agree. I have the same problem. Very annoying, but no word from apple as to when a fix may come.
