Is there a way for slideshow to work as a slideshow? When I start, it plays first 20 or so, then repeats while changing one of the slides every few times through. I just want it to work as a slide show for a few hundred pics in an album.

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with the slideshows not completing before they start to repeat. Does this happen with all albums, or only certain ones? If you turn off "Repeat Photos" does that help: Create a slideshow on Apple TV
We also recommend restarting your modem and/or Wi-Fi router as well as your Apple TV as restarting can resolve many odd issues: Restart Apple TV
