MacBook pro 16 to external 4K monitor, but limited at 30Hz

Dear Experts

My MacBook pro 16 connects to the 4K monitor, but the refresh rate is limited at 30Hz, can you kindly help to share the solution and comments?

A strange situation and not sure it's related, "About this Mac" shows external 61" monitor, but actually that is 27"

  • MacBook Pro 16, 2019 version
  • MAC OS, Monterey 12.0.1
  • Apple USB-C digital AV multiport adapter, A2119
  • HDMI cable
  • EIZO EV2785 (27"), as the Extended Display

ps: Use Windows 10 laptop, same HDMI cable and monitor, I can get 4K and 60Hz displayed well

thanks!!

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.0

Thanks for your reply!

The HDMI cable is the monitor inbox cable, spec is to support 4K 60Hz, so this should be ok

With the "Apple type-c to HDMI connector and this HDMI cable", my Mac mini (M1 chip, Monterey 12.0.1) and iPad 11" 2018 (iOS 15.1) both can get 4K 60Hz on the monitor... MacBook connects via USB-C cable directly to the monitor, and also get 4K/60Hz well

Is it possible that, my MacBook Pro 16 recognizes this monitor as 4K/30Hz when on HDMI cable, so i only get 30Hz ? Is there any way to force macbook to output 60Hz signal to the monitor ?

ps: It's due to this monitor does not support HDCP 2.2 on USB-C , so I am trying to use HDMI connection
