I am using a USB-C to HDMI adapter. This works fine going from the iPad to a TV. I have a device that take the HDMI output of the adapter and pulls out the audio to an analog format. This device does not support all audio formats. Is there any way to change the audio format that is delivered to the USB-C interface?

iPadOS does not provide a facility to select the digital audio encoding that is output via an HDMI interface. The iPad will output the [supported] audio format of the source material.
