Error while setting up custom domain on iCloud+

I get this error "There was a problem setting the default send from address. You can update your default address from your iCloud Mail settings." when I confirm the domain. I originally bought my domain imoz.in from GoDaddy and set it up using iCloud web. When I click next on Step 3 to "Finish setting up the domain" after it got verified it gave me this above error message and I'm unable to proceed. What could be the issue and how do I fix it?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

We understand that when setting up your domain, you are getting an error message that there is a problem with your default iCloud Mail address. The first thing we would suggest would be to check if you are able to send/receive email using that email address.

Yes, it's my Apple ID that I had created before iCloud mail IDs were launched (it was called MobileMe back then) so I got a me.com email ID that I've been using till date. So yeah, I'm definitely able to send/receive emails on that--it's my primary email ID since even before I got my domain name.

I was having the same exact issue.

But it looks like you can simply ignore this step, create/add your custom domain e-mail address, and then manually change the default e-mail and pick your custom domain, in the settings section of the Mail app on the iCloud website.

Oh, wow. Yes, I am able to start using the custom email on my mail client regardless of finishing the process. Thanks. Although, I don't think this particular issue is resolved thou so I'll let it stay open until a fix is answered.

I agree, the solution was more of a work around. The setup process itself still appears like it hasn’t concluded yet, sadly.
