iPod Touch 4th generation won't connect to iTunes Store

I can successfully login to iCloud but not iTunes and AppStore. I just want to download apps on my old iPod running 6.1.6. Is there anyway of doing that?

Hello, and welcome to Apple Support Communities MLGMarek_cz,

From your post we can see you're trying to download apps to your iPod Touch. You're able to connect to iCloud but not the iTunes Store or App Store.

Check this out: If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services. Let's see if will get you connected.

If not, you might need to use a computer to bring the apps over on your iPod: iPod Touch iOS6 User Guide. Use the information in this manual to help, and you might want to begin with page 15.

You've mentioned downloading apps. If you're able to get signed in, because of the version on this iPod Touch, you might find that many will not be compatible. We'd suggest checking out the App Store prior to downloading the app itself.

Kind regards.

Thank you! I had to download an older version of iTunes which has the app store and I tried it before but with apps supporting only modern versions of iOS. Now if I can ask, how do I track my iPod? I have it signed in to my iCloud with the Find iPod setting enabled but on the iCloud website or Find My app on my iPhone XR, I cannot track the iPod. I have discovered that there are 2 Find apps, one that is called Find My and the older one is Find My iPhone. I cannot install both on to my iPod but I'm not sure if they are needed to track my iPod. Thanks for helping anyways.

If you mean how I downloaded an older version of iTunes, then I found it here Deploy apps in a business environment with iTunes - Apple Support. Unfortunately I didn't find a way for Mac, just for Windows.

If you mean how I downloaded older versions of apps, then I still didn't. I have found still compatible apps for older iOS versions here Best free games for iPhone (iOS 6 and below) (ios-compatible.com) and then I searched for them in iTunes AppStore and downloaded them to my PC and to my iPod right after.

MLGMarek_cz,

Good to know that you were able to find an older version of iTunes to download! We were glad you were able to see which versions of the apps you'd need for your iPod Touch too.

For the Find My apps you've shared, they would not be compatible with your version. "Find My iPhone 4.0 requires iOS 8 or later and iCloud." and for Find My "iPod touch - Requires iOS 14.0 or later."

It would be unclear if there would be another app in the App Store that would be compatible with your version, and would help you track your iPod Touch.

Take care.
