I have a number that I blocked and on that number it has a tiny box that says recent. I think I may have accidentally called the number by mistake but that was while the number was blocked. Does this mean they tried to call me or is it showing up because I accidentally called them while the number was blocked?

In this case, the "recent" tag would likely indicate that the blocked contacted attempted to contact you recently, but no notification was shown. If you place an outgoing call, you can expect to find that in Recents.

When you block a phone number or contact, they can still call, and they are able to leave voicemail. Blocking the contact prevents you from
receiving a notification of the call. Additional information is available, here: Block phone numbers, contacts, and emails on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
To be sure we understand, when you followed the steps in the previous post, did you not see a record of the call at all in recently, and only find it under Blocked Contacts? Recent outgoing calls would appear under the Recent tab.

There wasn’t that option but I attached a picture to show you what I see.
It was only in the Block contacts.
I did not see a record of it at all in my recently. I only found it under my Blocked Contacts.
