Windows 10/11 Mail App - Sync iCloud Mail

Can't seem to make iCloud Mail sync with Windows 10/11 Mail app.


I've added my account (Settings -> Manage Accounts -> +Add Account -> iCloud -> enter Apple ID and App-Specific Password).


I know this is working because calendars and contacts are syncing just fine.


However, I cannot get mail to sync. This setting will not stay on:



i have iCloud+ and i'm using a custom domain, i'm thinking it has to do with that?

iCloud Mail can be set up on the devices listed in Set up iCloud for Mail on all your devices - Apple Support, which are:


An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

A Mac computer

A Windows PC


All other devices are able to access iCloud Mail by visiting iCloud.com in the device's internet browser app.
