[Solution Found] "Sync mail" checkbox not showing up when setting up iCloud for outlook

Hi apple'rs,

For a long time on my tablet, the "sync mail" checkbox wasn't showing up on the iCloud for windows setup, which a few others expressed on this recent unsolved post: icloud for windows MAIL option not showing - Apple Community (by user petercoota).

This was fixed for me by:

1. Completely uninstalling any previous versions of iCloud
2. Avoiding the Microsoft store link, and downloading the windows 7/8 iCloud installer direct from apple instead: Download iCloud for Windows – Apple Support (AU)

Even though my laptop is windows 10, this version of iCloud includes the 'sync email' checkbox on setup, and successfully synced my iCloud inbox to outlook even though it's designed for windows 7/8 systems - I hope this helps anyone with similar issues.
