MacBook Pro 2020 (M1 chip) with JBL 3

Hello!

Can't connect JBL charge 3 with macOS. Technically i have connected bluetooth device, but has no any additional sound output devices. Please help.

P.S. JBL works fine with iPhone

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

I solved this problem by my own — need to disconnect bluetooth device (JBL) from iPhone first. Otherwise you can connect to JBL from mac, but macOS donesn’t detect JBL sound device.

If you are AirPods owner — you can’t use easy JBL switching feature like AirPods. You need to:

— note which of your devices JBL speaker is currently connected to;

— disconnect your JBL speaker from currently using system bluetooth devices following user manual;

— go to your new device system bluetooth devices and connect JBL speaker following user manual.

Do this steps every time you need to switch device (suffer).

JBL is not Apple, i hate this speaker, but it sounds good.

Best regards.

Hi element100,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It appears that you're having trouble with your Bluetooth speaker and Mac. Let's see how we can help. Just to confirm, you're able to connect it, but don't hear any sound, right? If you haven't done so already, restart your Mac and the speaker. Sometimes a simple restart can fix minor issues. If restarting doesn't help, unpair the speaker then pair it with your Mac again. It's also a good idea to make sure it's running the latest firmware version. You may need to check with the manufacturer to find out. If you have another Bluetooth speaker, pair it with your Mac to see if it functions normally.

Take care.
