I have the Apple tv app on my computer. Was able to use the app to watch movies and tv on my computer. I added the app to my TV and can now watch Apple movies and tv on my tv. But now when I try to use the app on my computer it does not open.

The Apple TV app is supported on macOS 10.15 or later, not 10.14 or earlier. Those earlier systems will have to use the iTunes application and the Apple TV+ website.
