Why can’t I respond to a specific message in a group message. I go to the old bubble tap and hold but a reply button is not available.

We understand you're unable to reply to messages in a group message. We're happy to help.
To start, is the group message going through the iMessage service (everyone is using iPhones and the message bubbles have a blue background)? Or is it going through regular SMS text service (someone in the message is not using an iPhone and the message bubbles have a green background)?
Inline replies are only available through Apple's iMessage service, so if this group message you're in is going through regular SMS text service (the message bubbles have a green background), you will not have a reply option when holding on a message.
Reply to specific messages on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
If the group message is using the iMessage service and there's no "Reply" option, just let us know.
