Error updating to macOS Monterey

I get this error when installing macOS Monterey - " error occurred while installing selected updates". please what could be the reason. MacBook Air 2018.

This is the error I get when I try to upgrade to Monterey: “The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKDownloadError error 8.)" I'm not sure what is wrong and I would love any advice on how to fix this. "The file can't be found." on booting... Everytime I start my MacBook Pro (intel chip), I get two error message. Both say "The file can't be found". This has been happening ever since I updated to big sur. I have to click on "OK" (twice) to make them go away. Neither does it tell you what file can't be found. I just updated to Ventura 13.1 and the problem remains. As does the control strip/touch bar issue. Is Apple going downhill...SMH.

Mac stuck on checking for updates while updating macOS I'm trying update my 2017 iMac to Big Sur 11.6.4 from Big Sur 11.6.3 and all I get is a spinning wheel in "checking for updates". Is there any way to fix this [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If you have any "cleaning/optimizing" apps uninstall them using the developer's instructions.

Uninstall any antivirus apps.

Delete the Monterey installer that is in the Applications folder.

Boot to Safe Mode, that boot takes minutes, and redownload the Monterey installer and then try upgrading again.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Are you sure you are upgrading to Monterey since that is an upgrade while updates are incremental update to a macOS version. If you look at software update in System preferences do you see updates under the Monterey upgrade?

Also you need about 45GB of free disk space for the Monterey upgrade.
