My Magic Mouse suddenly stops scrolling
My Magic Mouse suddenly stops "scrolling"... the only fix is to plug it in for at least an hour then I can scroll again. Is there something wrong with my mouse?

I have been following this problem (although the Caps Lock problem is new to me (I will check it out), at this thread where many people have the same problem,
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253308861?answerId=256449859022&page=6
Here is my latest post to that thread,
"I had mentioned this problem with my MacBook Air M1 and Magic Mouse Model A1657 here some time ago. Specifically, the trackpad functions of the mouse stop working, while moving the cursor and clicking are fine.
I have been dealing with the problem by hovering over the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen, turning the Magic Mouse OFF, then back ON, then enabling it with the mouse from the trackpad. This seems to work every time and doesn’t take very long.
However, I now have a new development to report. Several months ago, I had a problem with the screen turning pink and then crashing. I ran the M1 diagnostics and got the following result, "There may be an issue with the trackpad. Reference Code: NDR005, NDR006." Later, I read that the anti-virus software ClamXAV might be causing the Pink Screen crash, so I disabled it. No more crashes. Later I re-installed it and after awhile got another Pink Screen crash. So now it's gone.
However, I still have the trackpad diagnostic error. I was concerned about this, so I took the MacBook Air to the Genius Bar. They ran the diagnostic and found nothing. They kept it overnight and ran a complete series of tests with no problems (by the way the Magic Mouse was home on my desk - I did not even think there was a relationship).
Tonight I ran the diagnostic again and again got the trackpad error. For the first time thinking that there was a connection to the Magic Mouse problems, I turned the Mouse off and ran the diagnostic again with results that said, "No issues found. Reference Codes:ADP000."
I have repeated the diagnostic test several times. Magic Mouse on and connected gives trackpad errors. Magic Mouse off gives no errors.
Hopefully others are correct and Apple will fix this soon.

Have you made sure you have upgraded to Monterey 12.1? ....... there are several people on here, including me, that have fixed this problem with that update.... there was a problem at one point when 12.1 would not update on it's own and you have to force it to update.....
I've had the same problem for several days. Tried recharging magic mouse, power on/off, etc.. I also recently upgraded to Monterey but that may be a coincidence. I have now cleaned the top of the mouse with a soft damp cloth and it's been working for the past two days. The mouse looked spotless but must have had some invisible film built up on it.
I have intermittently been dealing with this issue since upgrading my MacBook Pro and therein the most recent software version(s). Until Apple resolves the issue, use this workaround:
Hover the mouse over the bluetooth icon and turn the Magic Mouse off. Then use the track pad to turn it back on.
I have upgraded my M1 MacBook Pro (2020) system to MacOS Monterey 12.1
This upgrade includes a fix that corrected my "sticky" mouse issue.
Happy Days!

It would appear the issue, is the Battery is not being Fully Charged
In addition to the above, you can check the charge level of your mouse's battery by clicking the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and selecting the mouse.
If the Bluetooth icon is not in the menu bar, click System Preferences > Bluetooth and check-mark the box to show the icon in the menu bar.
Ensure that you are running macOS Monterey Version 12.1 or later.
The latest OS versions overcame my scrolling issues.
Once you install Monterey 12.2.1, the problem goes away....at least it did for us.
Exactly the same this is a definite post upgrade issue. Switching the mouse off and back on again letting it reconnect resolves.. Come on @Apple what's the permanent fix!
The scrolling issue stopped once I installed the Monterey update.
I'm having this problem too. Mine occurs when my MacBook Pro goes to sleep. When I awaken it, the scrolling feature is gone. I've found that turning the mouse on and off solves the problem, but it's a pain in the neck.
I used the suggestion of cleaning the mouse surface, and this is working - for now.
I have a similar issue that appeared to start after the most recent major upgrade (macOS Monterey 12.0.1). There is no issue with the power. My mouse works fine moving the cursor or clicking, but the scrolling function just stops. I need to turn off the mouse and turn it back on for the scrolling functionality to work again.
My problem is the same as everyone else. Since installing Monterey, my magic mouse has stopped scrolling. To make it scroll, it has to be disconnected from Bluetooth and then reconnected or shut off, then turned back on. It appears the common denominator is Monterey programming. I sent a message to Support and the next day it began working but it has stopped once again. There was no problem prior the new IOS.
Apple folks, you're better than this. Fix the program!!!
