My Magic Mouse suddenly stops scrolling
My Magic Mouse suddenly stops "scrolling"... the only fix is to plug it in for at least an hour then I can scroll again. Is there something wrong with my mouse?

I have been following this problem (although the Caps Lock problem is new to me (I will check it out), at this thread where many people have the same problem,
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253308861?answerId=256449859022&page=6
Here is my latest post to that thread,
"I had mentioned this problem with my MacBook Air M1 and Magic Mouse Model A1657 here some time ago. Specifically, the trackpad functions of the mouse stop working, while moving the cursor and clicking are fine.
I have been dealing with the problem by hovering over the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen, turning the Magic Mouse OFF, then back ON, then enabling it with the mouse from the trackpad. This seems to work every time and doesn’t take very long.
However, I now have a new development to report. Several months ago, I had a problem with the screen turning pink and then crashing. I ran the M1 diagnostics and got the following result, "There may be an issue with the trackpad. Reference Code: NDR005, NDR006." Later, I read that the anti-virus software ClamXAV might be causing the Pink Screen crash, so I disabled it. No more crashes. Later I re-installed it and after awhile got another Pink Screen crash. So now it's gone.
However, I still have the trackpad diagnostic error. I was concerned about this, so I took the MacBook Air to the Genius Bar. They ran the diagnostic and found nothing. They kept it overnight and ran a complete series of tests with no problems (by the way the Magic Mouse was home on my desk - I did not even think there was a relationship).
Tonight I ran the diagnostic again and again got the trackpad error. For the first time thinking that there was a connection to the Magic Mouse problems, I turned the Mouse off and ran the diagnostic again with results that said, "No issues found. Reference Codes:ADP000."
I have repeated the diagnostic test several times. Magic Mouse on and connected gives trackpad errors. Magic Mouse off gives no errors.
Hopefully others are correct and Apple will fix this soon.
2 other observations...
If I start my M1 without the MM2 active the Trackpad does Drag & Drop. If I then connect the MM2, the Trackpad stops D&D.
Have also tested this whole sequence with an MM1 and get the same errors and symptoms....
I also have this issue; it started last week (end of January 2022). My Mac desktop is bout 1.5 years old. The mouse is charged, so that's not the problem. I've shut down & restarted. No fix. Turned it off/back on. Fixes it for a few minutes then stops. I've disconnected it and plugged it in again. It worked for a few minutes then stopped again. No fix. Everything else is still functional--just not the scrolling. I am running an update in hopes that will fix it, but others are still having the same issue. I don't want to buy a new mouse if I'll just have the same issue.
I am on Monteray 12.2.1 and my magic mouse is not scrolling mostly on the horizontal axis. I can scroll up and down but left and right doesn't work. Very frustrating and makes my work take that much longer. It's fully charged and I can do everything else with the mouse but scroll. This is on my iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, Late 2015).
This had never happened to me until recently. If I plug in my mouse or restart my computer it works again...for awhile. My battery level is at 90%. Could this be related to the Monterey OS?
Mine is doing the same as B0ssLady08 at a 90% charge. Furthermore this malfunction started after the most recent update on Monterey 12.0.1
I have the same problem. The mouse functions normally for a while, then the scrolling stops working. It happens with 2 different "mice," so it's the MacBook Air, not the mouse. It's annoying!
Yes, I've also had the Caps Lock problem! The mouse problem happens on my iMac and my MacBook Air with a mouse paired. Everyone in our company who uses a Mac is having the same issue as well.
Magic Mouse 2 will not scroll even when fully charged and connected to imac running latest Monterey.

Just tried the same tests on my MBP 13" 2015 and everything works fine and no error codes...
This looks like Monterey OS problem on M1 MBP's to me.
Same! Mine did it right after the update
I checked that, too. It was actually the first thing I checked since my cat is a hairy beast! Not the problem. Still doesn't scroll.
After updating it stopped! Thank you 🙏🏼
