I have a spreadsheet that contains years of race results. I saved it and then played around with it. I didn't like what I did so I just closed it...no save thinking it would revert back to the saved one. Now my spreadsheet is messed up and I need to know if I can go back to the previous saved one?
From the menu choose File > Revert To > Browse All Versions.

In System Preferences / General, click the box for "ask to keep changes when closing documents". From then on it will ask you if you want to save your changes or "revert" to the previously saved version. It was one of the first settings I changed when they came out with this idea of "automatic saving".
