Apple One Organizer Account vs existing shared Music from a different account

I am considering signing up for Apple One which will be shared with two other family members (Family Members “B” and “C”). Let’s say I am Family Member “A” . Currently, we each have our own storage plans and Family Member “C” shares his Apple Music subscription with “A” and “B”.

If we sign up for Apple One Family or Premier, and Family Member “A” becomes the Organizer, is it a problem for Family Member “C” to still be the ID for Apple Music under the Family/Premier Plan that is shared with “A” and “B”?

Hey dabo256,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand you have questions about subscriptions and Family Sharing. Let's help.

To start, there can only be one Organizer per Family Sharing group, that heads all purchases and subscriptions to share. That means, either you (Member A) have to set up the Family Sharing group to be the Organizer and members B and C join your group. Or, member C remains the Organizer of the Family Sharing group where both members A and B joined, and member C signs up for the Apple One Family or Premier subscription to share it with you both.

You referenced If you subscribe to Apple One and use a different Apple ID for iCloud. Do either you (member A) or member C use two different Apple ID's on your personal devices; one for iCloud, one for the iTunes & App Store? Or, do you only have one set up per device/user?

dabo256,

Got it!

Apple Music content is only affected/lost if the services are canceled entirely. Since you'd only be making changes to the billing aspect of things, and not canceling the Apple Music plan, just making a switch in how things are billed and to who, there would not be an impact/loss on each subscribers Apple Music library content. No worries there.

Regards.

To clarify, each family member has their own Apple ID and each member uses their own ID for iCloud vs iTunes/App store. The Apple Music subscription that Family Member C shares is a family plan subscription ($14.99 per month). We each have our own unique playlists, etc through that subscription and each person uses their unique Apple ID.

Said another way, for Family Member A, under Settings/Apple ID/Family Sharing, Family Member A is currently the Organizer; and Apple Music is shared by Family Member C with A & B.

I want to make sure that if Family Member A is the organizer for a new Apple One Family/Premier plan and that the Music library, playlists, etc that each person has already established with the current Apple Music Family plan is not lost. In other words, not sure this is how it works but: when Apple Music switches from Family Member C (Apple Music family plan) to Family Member A (Apple One Family/Premier where Family Member A is the Organizer), will everything with Music (the library, playlists, etc) stay the same.
