Some big files are saved on Documents folder but they're are not being saved on iCloud

Hi! - So I was trying to free up some space on my MacBook whenI realized that there are some recent movie project files saved on my Documents folder which are not being saved on iCloud. Instead, they are consuming space on my MacBook drive.

I already have the "Desktop & Documents Folder" option turned on in iCloud so I don't know why it keeps saving these files on my MacBook drive.

Is there a way to tell iCloud "hey, save this specific file on the Cloud and NOT on my computer"?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

iCloud Drive is a syncing service, meant to keep the files and documents on all devices identical. By default iCloud Drive, including the Desktop & Documents folder, will save the documents and files in iCloud and mirror them on your Mac and other synced devices, unless you enable "Optimise Mac Storage" for iCloud Drive. Then iCloud may remove some large files, that you have not used in a long time, from your Mac and keep them only in iCloud, if you need more free storage. But iCloud will try to keep the recently used files stored on your devices, as space permits, so you will not have to waste bandwidth by downloading the same documents over and over again.
