since new update email, facetime, and messenging apps will not function

Whats going on? who can/ who cannot use messaging, facetime and email applications on macbook pro after new update?

they will not open at all but just annoying bounce on my dock.

Very irritated as I usually avoid updates because I fear situations just as this were it does nothing but create a new slew of problems for me.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.0

If you can't turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime - Apple ...

Try a Safeboot to test— SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

reboot and test as normal
