Full Resolution with Dell U2713HM and 16“ M1

Hello all, I have a Dell U2713HM 27” monitor. I am using a DVI to USB-C but not able to get the full resolution from the monitor which is 2560x1440. That resolution is supported by both DVI and Display Port. I have searched and read that there are issue with USB-C and some Dell monitors. Works great using DisplayPort with my old 2012 MPB. My question is will I get full resolution if I get a DisplayPort to USB-C cable? I know it should theoretically work but am curious if anyone has made this work. Thanks!
