Apple TV Screen Mirroring Lag

Like many others I am having extreme trouble screen mirroring from my Iphone 13 ProMax to my Apple TV 4K HDTV. At first a video will seem ok , but after a few minutes will start pausing and getting very choppy. Now here’s the thing, I have an Ipad Pro 11 2nd generation that streams just fine on the same setup. I have read about and tried all the recommended “fixes” with no improvement at all. I have turned off bluetooth. I have reset everything. I am at my wits end. Anyone have any more ideas?

Thanks. This is no help. The problem is that screen mirroring is choppy. It does work. Just works very poorly. I have tried: multiple resets on all devices, turning off Bluetooth on the phone, making sure all software is up to date, connected Ethernet cable from router to AppleTV. The Apple TV box is only 5 feet away from the router. I can’t find anything else to try

Thanks for those details, sndtubes.

Does this happen with any other devices, or in other locations? We'd like to rule out the possibility that there is some type of interference causing the behavior before we recommend hardware service. You can check out Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference for some common steps to identify and resolve wireless interference.

Are you able to test the following scenarios?

  • Try mirroring using a different iPhone.
  • Try using the same iPhone but mirroring to a different device in the same location.
  • Try mirroring using your iPhone in a different location.

Let us know what you find out.

I have tried the things you suggested. They did not help.

i have tried a MacBook Pro (2019 i9) and the problem is still present. There is still some choppiness to the video.

I have been able to improve the situation by changing HDMI cables. I have ordered a ultra high speed 8K cable which I should get Tuesday. I am hoping this was the problem but won’t know for a day or so. I will report my findings when I know them
