Icloud Popup Messages

I live in Italy but I imagine there is a standard procedure for certain problems. Can I kindly know how to stop getting this message out? It activates whenever the phone's network loses its effectiveness and then reconnects. It's unnerving. Many thanks in advance

Hi, Cosmik_723, and thanks for reaching out. We see you're having issues with an alert about a potential SMS charge relating to iCloud activation. We'll be glad to help.

By any chance, are you using Messages in iCloud? You can check by tapping Settings > [your name] > iCloud, and looking to see if Messages is on. Also, to verify, are you able to send and receive both SMS and iMessages?

From your post, it sounds like this message is popping up frequently. Does it happen after you restart your device, when you switch between Wi-Fi and cellular, when you use a particular app, or does it seem to happen only when cellular service is interrupted?

If you tap Settings > General > About, do you see any prompts to update your carrier settings? Which iOS version are you using on that screen?

We hope this helps you.

Take care.

Hi, Cosmic_723.

To stop this message from appearing, you would need to completely sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on your device (since you aren't using them or plan to anyway).

The following article can help with showing you how to do that: Deregister iMessage

After you sign out and have both FaceTime and iMessage disabled, if you still get this message, you may need to reach out to Apple directly: Contact Apple for support and service

We hope that helps you.

Cheers!

Hi jmarse1, thanks for the reply.

I have an iPhone 8 version iOS 15.1, operator Vodafone. I have not activated iMessage or Facetime, but when I restart I see that the popups related to iMessage and Facetime appear to me anyway (I have disabled them both as I am not used to using them), together with the iCloud popup. It often does this when: 1) the cellular network is missing and then comes back; 2) on restart; 3) switching from the cellular network to the wifi network. Today, for example, he did it 6 times !!!

I went into settings-> name-> icloud-> messages, and they are not active (the list includes apps like “mail, calendars, notes”, all active except messages). I don't really know how to fix. My Vodafone promotion allows me to send and receive text messages, so even clicking on "ok" I don't pay any costs, but I would like to avoid receiving these popups 20 times a day 😂
