Airpod Pro sound quality issue ONLY on my Macbook
The issue: I bought a pair of Airpod Pro's back in Aug. 2020 and have had zero issues, and up until this month (Oct. 2021) I have been experiencing issues with them. The sound quality issue isn't on my end, but rather, the other end. Everything sounds fine to me, all of the different functions work without any problems (transparency + noise canceling) but I am being told that on the other my voice sounds like a machine and it will sometimes sound like I am satan himself (lol).
What I've done:
- Disconnect the headphones from all devices and reconnect - Problem not solved.
- Tested the headphones on different conferencing tools (Hangouts, Around, Slack) - Problem not solved.
- Tested the headphones on different devices (iPhone, Mac, iPad) - Problem not solved
- Called and worked with Apple to get a replacement pair
- Resynced the headphones to my devices (Macbook Pro, iPhone, multiple iPads) and tested again to see if the issue persisted - Problem not solved.
I haven't been able to test the new headphones on multiple conferencing tools yet, but what I've been able to isolate it down to is an issue with the Macbook. The test I was able to run was the Airpods still had an issue on the mac with Google Hangouts and Slack. I then connected the headphones to an iPad and joined a Slack room and I sounded fine.
I have a 16-inch MacBook Pro from 2019 (with memory and graphics card upgrades).
What say you, Apple!
