Use migration assistant with USB3.1
Can I use a USB 3.1 cable to move to my new mac using Migration Assistant?
MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.11
Is it a Gen 1 (5Gbps) or 2 (10Gbps) ??
If it is a Gen 2, sure, it should work... However, you might want to try something faster like Thunderbolt...
I know it works great via Thunderbolt cable, WiFi and Time Machine never tried USB 3.1
