why has Apple decided to provide in their latest MacBook pros' (14"and 16") the much desired MagSafe, HDMI ports. I recently bought 2 MacBook Pros' in Sept 2021, devoid of all these essential ports, except for the 2 USBC ports. Its unfair

Being advised to take advantage of a generous return policy is always a good suggestion. Just because you don't like the response does not change Apple's policies. Due diligence before purchase is likewise always a good suggestion.
You have 14 days from receipt to exchange a computer you buy direct from Apple for full value. After that it's yours. That's as "fair" as it gets.
Computers technology is still evolving rapidly. Computers will always be faster, better, and cheaper if you wait.
But if you have work to do, you choose the best match from the available options and go get your work done.
Hi Alder, My point of contention is this - One searches the computer shops, online market for a suitable USBC hubs for all kinds of connectivity with hundred of manufacturers making similar products. Some may or may not be compatible. You get to insert the USB C Plugs into the only two available USBC sockets for charging and other communications purposes with every probability of wear and tear. Whereas not so long ago apple MacBook pro (upto 2015 which I was using) had all the required ports and suddenly it got vanished from 2017 or 2016 onwards with only USB C ports provided. Now again in 2021 it came back with these ports.
I understand computer technology evolves for faster and better/superior services, but cheaper I doubt!. Whereas the flipflop approach by Apple on MacBook Pro with Magsafe, HDMI etc.... is something an ardent user of Mac products such as me from many years is like WHY? bring back when you have embarked upon a newer/future technological approach!. Is it because of customer complains? I hope you got it!.
On the contrary, When I purchased the MacBook Pro MI 2020 model, in Sept 2021, Apple should have the courtesy to atleast inform "hi hang on can you wait a bit more weeks or months, we are launching a new product with all these sought after goodies". Buying and returning ....... is not a good suggestion.
No one at Apple could possibly have advised you about what might be available in future. Everyone who has any idea is under strict non-disclosure agreement, and simply can't say.
You cursed them when they sold Macs without the ports you wanted.
Now you curse them when they do.

What would you then suggest? Maybe in the future you buy a product that meets your needs. Specifications are always changing. If the computer you bought does not meet your requirements then what would be a good suggestion other than selling/returning it?
You'll have to ask Apple. We're just users like you and have no connection to Apple's business processes or their R&D decisions.
