Just having some fun. Classic Apple... they put a billion different options and things you can turn on/off/control in Settings, but not the flashlight icon on the lock screen. And that question is all over Apple Support, so you are not alone in your frustration. So we resort to trying crazy things like "anypats" suggested of 'turning your phone the opposite way in your pocket...' And that suggestion is what made we think of the old, vaudeville slapstick comedy joke that I "tweaked" and posted above...

This is a user-to-user forum. Although Apple administers these Apple Support Communities, that doesn't include reading each of thousands of daily posts for possible feedback. However, Apple will "read all feedback carefully" here: https://apple.com/feedback

First, none of the users here care how you spend your money, and I have no idea who you think your are threatening. And if you think you don’t get stuck with apps you’ll never use on an Android you are sadly misinformed. In addition to the built in Android apps, manufacturers tend to load up their phones with what can best be called “bloatware” that various companies pay them to add to the basic Android OS. And if you think Androids don’t have problems spend a few hours in Android forums.

If there are built in apps you don’t want on an iPhone you can delete most of them→Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12 or later device or Apple Watch - Apple Support

If you had bothered to ask “how can I keep the light from flashing when I get a phone call” rather than posting a screed another user would be happy to tell you how. Go to Settings/Accessibility/Audio/Visual and turn off LED Flash for Alerts and Flash on Silent (unless you want it to flash when the phone is muted).

Ideal would be if the user could control sensitivity. Second best is if you could take flashlight off the home screen. The flashlight uses the battery, and is not as useful as 'Apple developers' think.

The camera is a lot less sensitive than flashlight and requires a prolonged press to turn on.

I hope, against hope, that someone at Apple Development is listening.

Can you please consider a way of taking this flashlight button off of the home screen in a new update? I spend all this money to have a phone with a good battery and it gets drained if I put the phone in my pocket. It’s really ridiculous.

No one in this use-to-user forum can consider changing anything.

Hello ~ You must understand we are fellow forum users just like you are and not Apple Support. We all volunteer here to help with issues concerning Apple products so no one here is trying to do anything but help. We cannot change the way an iPhone is constructed but only offer tips to help. No one in Apple Development is reading here. If you want them to know your thoughts, use the feedback link which has been given repeatedly.

But, honestly, you may never see it changed. It's not something "broken" that needs to be "fixed". It's an intentional design choice on Apple's part. It would take a lot of posts to the feedback page to get them to reconsider. Personally, I find it very useful to not have to unlock the phone to get to the flashlight.

The only reason I bought an Apple Phone is because I've had an iMAC for 13 years and it communicates with my phone and my car. Problem is my iPhone 7 needed replacing and the only thing I don't like about Apple is that you end up with a bunch of stuff you don't need or want......this stupid flashlight is the most annoying thing I've found and it drains the battery quickly. The stupid thing flashes every time I get a phone call. Either make it stop I suggest everyone switch to a Droid.....no problems and you don't get stuck with apps you'll never use.

Hello

It may not seem ideal, but you may want to turn your phone fully off at times, so it won’t come on and activate buttons at random times. Or, you may not want to store the phone in your pocket, as it probably moves around a lot. Maybe find a more secure location (like in a pocket of a briefcase, bag, etc.).

Hope this helps.
