Apple Watch series 7 doesn’t come with a charging block

The new series 7 watch doesn’t come with a charging block. My understanding is that Apple believes we all have these blocks laying around and they don’t want to continue creating more of a trash/environmental problem. However, I don’t have a single charging block that is USB-C and I would venture to believe that the great majority of people who have blocks laying around their homes also have the traditional USB charging block. Is there a way to have Apple send me a block for my new watch?

WMGlenn - I too had the same situation. It is very frustrating considering the premium price you and I paid to purchase the iWatch7. I have many Apple charging blocks with USB-A connections but none with USB-C. I had a Magnetic Charger to USB-A Cable from my previous iWatch3 and used that to charge up my iWatch7 as a temporary solution. To get a complete charge this takes a very long time (3-4 hours). I finally purchased a USB C Charger, Anker 32W 2 Port Charger with 20W USB C Power Adapter from Amazon. This takes only about 30 minutes to charge because of the Fast Charging USB C capability. Recommend you be sure and get a USB-C charging block cable able of Fast Charging (Like the Anker device mentioned above).

Yes, you can certainly get Apple to send you one. Click this link, choose add to bag and how you want to pay for it --> https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MHJA3AM/A/20w-usb-c-power-adapter?fnode=312c7da8f4ea87346124bd3b053d877e88685990b4c56771f29e16301489a87a896c204e100d13e29e4fd2f404c16a07b8ffafc1561da956cb765ea4d874450808716c4f45e0c3d111ba9a098179b16925d6a496b6d65bd0baf63a94fc952209da48e2d4b11e223755fc7024b9094592

You can stop by an Apple Store and buy it there. You can buy one at Best Buy or order one from Amazon as well.

Got it, Apple is too cheap to provide the small piece of equipment needed to charge their device and is using the environment as their scapegoat. I’ve found in articles where Apple mentions that charging blocks (plugs/cubes) are just laying around everywhere and they don’t want to add to the cluster and therefore hurt the environment… I have about 12 charging blocks at home, so on the surface I agree with their argument, but none of them are USB-C … and I’m sure they know that is the case for the great majority of people.

You’re correct though, it does not mention on the box or the website that one is included, so I never should have been expecting one in the first place; that’s an error on my part. I haven’t purchased a product from Apple in a while and just have always been use to seeing them in the package and assumed I would find one… but we know what happens when you assume. Thanks for the reply and information

No. Apple was clear in what is in the box and by their multiple statements, since iPhone 12 that they won't be included charging plugs with iPhone or Apple Watch anymore. I get you think you should have gotten one, but Apple isn't going to send you one for free. They never suggested one comes with the watch. On the order page for every watch you could choose is this:

What’s in the Box (chose blue just as an example)

  • Blue Aluminum Case
  • Sport Loop
  • 1m Magnetic Fast Charger to USB‑C Cable

You'll note there is no mention of a charging plug, so there shouldn't be an expectation one was included.

Also, see this:

See the following from https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-watch/apple-watch?option.watch_cases=MKNQ3LL/A&option.watch_bands=ML7Y3AM/A&preSelect=false&product=Z0YQ&step=detail#

As part of our efforts to reach our environmental goals, Apple Watch does not include a power adapter. Included in the box is a USB‑C to Lightning Cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB‑C power adapters and computer ports.
